This authentic ancient bead originates from the Peshawar Valley, part of the greater Indus cultural region of northwestern Pakistan. Crafted by hand between approximately 2000 and 1000 BCE, it dates to the Late Harappan / Post-Harappan period, a time of cultural transition following the height of the Indus Valley Civilization.
Shaped and polished using traditional stone-working techniques, the bead shows the natural character and subtle irregularities expected of true antiquity. Beads from this region were used for personal adornment, trade, and symbolic purposes, and examples from this period are increasingly scarce.
A genuine artifact of the ancient world, this bead is a rare, museum-quality survivor from one of humanity’s earliest cultural landscapes.
